History |
As
with most companies, our operation started out small.
Neil Ching set up his drainage business in the
early seventies and provided drainlaying services to Nelson for over
twenty years. Through this time Neil developed a reputation for
reliability, honesty and integrity. Essentially the name Neil Ching
was synonymous with drainlaying in Nelson and was more often than
not the first to come to mind when drainage works were contemplated.
Andrew Spittal worked for Neil for three years before the
opportunity arose to purchase the business in 1994. Andrew bought
the business in partnership and it became known as Neil Ching
Contracting (1994) Ltd. Under its new stewardship the company
continued to prosper and build on the sound foundation that Neil had
established.
It was recognised that considerable opportunities
existed to provide specialised drainage and water reticulation
services to the Nelson region which enjoyed and continues to enjoy a
rate of growth well above the national average. The production of
residential sections and the need to upgrade infrastructural
services to cater for the needs of an expanding population has
provided a steady and reliable source of work. Capitalising on this
has seen the business grow and adapt to the needs of the region.
Although the company has changed significantly in terms of its size,
stature and achievements over the years it has managed to maintain
an enviable level of customer satisfaction. This has been achieved
by providing a professional service whilst maintaining the values
and level of personal attention usually found only in small
businesses.
