Ching Contracting Assist With Christchurch Earthquake Repairs.

On Tuesday 1st March 2011 a seven strong team travelled south to Christchurch to help with emergency repairs to the damaged water supply infrastructure of Christchurch following the February 22nd 6.3 magnitude earthquake.
The team consisted of specialist water servicemen, plant operators, general labourers and a site manager.

The Ching Contracting crew were assigned to undertake emergency repairs to multiple water mains located along, and feeding off, a 3.2km long stretch of the main road into Sumner starting from the beginning of the causeway at McCormacks Bay, through Redcliffs and finishing at Moncks Bay. Additional emergency repairs were also undertaken in Lyttleton.

During a 10 day period our crew completed nearly 40 individual repairs to watermains ranging in pipeline size from 40mm to 300mm and restored mains water supply to many local businesses and hundreds of households in the Redcliffs area.
